She’s here!
Leona was born on August 19th, 2019 and what a wild ride it was! Oh by the way, I was in labor for about 40 hours…take a moment to say a prayer for me. My water broke at 4:30am Sunday the 18th of August and I didn’t give birth until the next day at 9:23pm.
Needless to say, the last month has been a wild ride of sleep deprivation, baby blues, cute baby photos, and intermittent moments of freaking out. I am learning to rely on God in a whole new way through all of this, and I know someday I’ll look back on these early days with a heart of thankfulness.
The task of motherhood seems daunting on some days and exciting on others. I often flip back and forth between being confident about the future to being afraid and uncertain. I’ve found and continue to find that the Lord is such a constant help, and He is ready to assist me and my husband in this journey. I always have to remember to rest in the Lord and know that He knows my situation so intimately, and there’s nothing I could go through that would overwhelm Him.
Rest in the Lord today, He cannot be overwhelmed by you or your situation.
Deuteronomy 31:8
It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.
